Coach Lacey's experience

​Rother concluded her career hitting .306, scored 44 runs, had 82 hits, 11 doubles, 15 home runs, 61 RBIs, and had a career .522 slugging percentage and .462 on-base percentage.
Junior (2014): During her junior campaign, Rother started 47 games alternating between designated hitter, catcher, and outfield. Rother earned WAC Player of the Year honors after a successful season. She led the team in WAC play with a .462 batting average and four home runs. She had 18 hits in her 39 at-bats and was walked 11 times. She set a new league and NM State record for most walks in a single game, with four in the Aggies 17-2 win over Bakersfield (4/12).
On the season, Rother had 47 hits and eight home runs for the Aggies and was named WAC Player of the Week two times. In 125 at-bats, Rother gathered a .376 batting average, a .648 slugging percentage, and a .512 on-base percentage. Rother had 12 multi-hit games nine multi-RBI games, and reached base 18 times consecutively. She had two grand slams on the season. The first was a game-winning bomb in a rally over UTEP early in the season. The second was in the second inning versus Kansas City (4/4). Rother was named to the NFCA All-Region team.
Sophomore (2013): Rother made 23 starts and 37 appearances for the Aggies during the 2013 season. She had 15 hits in her 66 at-bats, with seven runs scored and four home runs. She finished the year with a .227 batting average and a .409 slugging percentage. Rother had four RBI against Penn State when she hit two home runs in her three at-bats. She finished the year with four home runs. Rother earned her lone stolen baser of the season against Sienna College and had one hit in the game. She had 10 RBI on the year.
Before NM State: Rother completed her freshman season for the South Carolina Gamecocks. She started 10 games, nine as a designated hitter, and played in 31 contests. She hit .200 on the year, including going 6-for-19 (.316) when she was a starter. She belted her first career home run and went 2-for-3 with three RBI last season in a win over Maine with the Gamecocks. Rother also drew 10 walks to compile a .404 on-base percentage that ranked third overall on the squad. She earned a spot on the Southeastern Conference (SEC) First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
